Tafta calls on avid golfers to support its meals programme

The Association for the Aged (Tafta) is calling on golfing enthusiasts to participate in its annual Golf Day Challenge to be held on 16 May at the Durban Country Club.
The tournament, which will be a 4-ball format, tees off at 10.56 am and entrance fees at R1000 a player include a halfway-meal, greens fees, as well as an exciting end to the evening with a glamorous dinner.

All proceeds for this year’s event will once again go towards Tafta’s meal provision service; the Meals on Wheels programme.

“The Tafta Meals on Wheels programme continues to be a huge community service project for house-bound elders, both in Tafta homes and in the community and through initiatives like the Golf Day we continue serving vulnerable elders in need,” explained Tafta Income Development and Public Relations Manager Gail Samuels.

Tafta Golf Day player and Sanlam Private Wealth portfolio manager Lyall McNeill said he was glad his company remained loyal to the Tafta cause: “Tafta do an incredible job of caring for the elderly in our community. At Sanlam Private Wealth we are proud to be involved with such an organisation. By supporting their Golf Day, we are directly assisting in the raising of funds for the people they care for and would encourage other companies to do so.”
Corporate, individual, and team sponsorships opportunities are also available. Donations are welcomed and appreciated.
