NEW KID ON THE BLOCK MAKES SOLID ENTRANCE INTO THE SA MUSIC SCENE WITH DEBUT SINGLE

Singer Rynard Summers has released his first single titled ‘Broken’ as he takes his first official steps towards his music career in South Africa.

‘Broken’ juxtaposes various genres using electronic and synth sounds alongside Rynard’s raw vocals, which would not be out of place in a classic rock album.

“This song is more or less the story of my own life,” says Rynard. “When you first listen to the song, you will think that it is about a broken relationship between two people, but in fact it is the story of my own life and personal hardship. It is about my emotional struggle in life.”

Born and brought up in and around the Western Cape, the 21-year-old excelled in gymnastics and slalom and wakeboard water-skiing. He went to boarding school at Stellenbosch High, where he also matriculated, and then spent 3 months in Australia.

But upon his return to SA, his focus was clear as ever – it was time to start working on his music career.

Citing Michael Jackson, Neil Diamond and Bryan Adams as his musical influences, Rynard may be the perfect link between traditional and contemporary music. Especially since he has set his sights on one day working with the likes of Martin Garrix, Marshmello and Post Malone.

And he has set out his plan to get there, too. With his debut single, Rynard says he wants to be recognised as a serious artist and for his voice to be heard.

Going forward and with the objective of establishing himself in the music industry, he is already working on 5 new songs.

Rynard Summers is certainly a force to be reckoned with – and one to keep an eye on as he strikes his strong entrance into the South African music scene.

‘Broken’ is available on all major digital music platforms.
