DJ Zinhle – THE MVP CLUB

One of the most celebrated house DJs in Mzansi, DJ Zinhle, is the first guest to be featured on the second season of the unscripted and uncensored entertainment online series, THE MVP CLUB, which launches today.
THE MVP CLUB, which is hosted by Cape Town-based media personality, Tarryn Kay Trussel van Louw (better known as TK), is taking the internet by storm. In season two’s premier episode, DJ Zinhle gets very candid and open about her relationship with South African rapper, AKA. The DJ and entrepreneur also dives into the broader conversation of what it is like to be a female DJ and entrepreneur in male- dominated industries in South Africa and the challenges she faces on a daily basis. Furthermore, DJ Zinhle, opens up about her family and how she perfects the balance between her loved ones and her career, while also maintaining an authentic relationship of engagement with fans.

BABY KAIRO
In the show’s premier episode, DJ Zinhle and TK gets all moochy when it comes to daughter, Kairo. Already at the age of four, Kairo is a massive influencer in her own right – having amassed 757 000 followers on Instagram, in her ever-growing social media fan base. In this chat, DJ Zinhle exposes some of the challenges that come with being a working and travelling mother, which has seen Kairo develop “a strong sense of independence” because of her lifestyle and work.

“I also think she is independent and decisive because we have real conversations with her. Sometimes, she will just be like ‘Mom, I need to talk to you’ and we’ll sit down and just talk about stuff that matters to us,” DJ Zinhle told TK. For TK, the idea of THE MVP CLUB is to have guests engage in natural conversations, often times leading to them revealing details about themselves that have never surfaced in traditional media interviews before. Seeing as no questions are off the table, TK also does not shy away from getting her guests to talk about topics that they normally won’t comment on.

“With the advent of online media, we saw a gap in the market to bring a show like this to viewers. Instead of relying on traditional media interviews that are frequently too scripted for guests to feel comfortable enough to give a true account of themselves, THE MVP CLUB creates a space where celebs can relax knowing that the conversation is not going to be steered into a certain direction,” TK explained. Following on the success of the first season of the show, season two is said to set the bar even higher. Guests on the show’s new season include the likes of Jimmy Nevis; Majestic Mey; Rushana; former Idols winner, Paxton.

The first season of THE MVP CLUB was deemed as a success, obtaining a total of almost 320 000 views and reached millions of audiences online. Leading alcohol brand, SKYY Vodka, has partnered with THE MVP CLUB since season 1 to deliver an integrated marketing experience online.
