SINCERELY ANNE SE NUWE MUSIEKVIDEO IS BYKANS HEELTEMAL ONDER WATER VERFILM

Sincerely Anne, se nuutste enkelsnit, TRANSCEND, wat daaroor gaan struikelblokke te oorkom – in watter vorm dit ookal mag wees – en jouself toe te laat om te groei ten spyte daarvan is op 2 September 2020 aan radiostasies landswyd uitgereik. Met hierdie lied deel sy ‘n kragtige boodskap met die publiek daarbuite.

Die besonderse musiekvideo vir die enkelsnit, wat haar strelende sterk stem pragtig ten toon stel, is pas vrygestel en 99% van die beeldmateriaal is onder water verfilm. Dit sluit aan by die liedjie se boodskap om uit te styg bo die probleme van die lewe wat jou wil vedrink en sterker anderkant uit te kom.

“Die video vertel die storie van ’n meisie wat letterlik en figuurlik onder die water beland, waar sy moet leer om die lewe se struikelblokke te hanteer. Hierdie proses maak die veglus binne haar wakker. Sy leer nie net om die mooi in haar situasie raak te sien nie, maar ook om krag van binne te kry. Soos wat sy leer om die krisisse op haar pad te aanvaar, word sy sterk genoeg om die volgende storm te hanteer.”

Anne se idee vir die video, het lewe gekry by Sean en Ilse Moore se ateljee in Johannesburg. “Soos wat ons besig was met beplanning, het hulle met wonderlike idees vorendag gekom en dit was vreeslik lekker om saam met hulle te werk!” Die video was ook vir die sangeres ’n persoonlike uitdaging. “Ek is nie baie sterk in die water nie en dit maak my bang. Dit was ’n vrees wat ek ook graag wou oorkom.”

Sy beskryf, TRANSCEND, as ‘n monoloog wat eintlik ‘n bemoedigende boodskap aan jou vanaf jouself is en die inspirasie vir hierdie nuwe vrystelling van haar kom weereens uit haar eie ervaring en emosies. Alhoewel die liedjie eintlik ’n boodskap aan haarself is, is dit ook een waarby almal sal aanklank vind.

Anne woon tans in Johannesburg en het oor die jare al baie loopbaanhoogtepunte bereik en die verhoog gedeel met van die grootste name in die musiekbedryf.

Haar persoonlike probleme, het haar gemotiveer om haar hart te volg en met passie te leef terwyl sy nog kans het om dit te doen.

Jou nuutste enkelsnit “Transcend” is heeltemal onder water geskiet. Hoekom het jy besluit om dit juis onder water te doen?
Water is imagery that I often use in my songwriting, and the theme of Transcend suited that theme so much. “when it rains it pours”, as I use the expression in my song, it’s almost as if it has rained so much that you are now completely underwater, water from which you need to transcend above. It is also because I wanted to do something different, I suppose, and I have worked with the Ilse Moore Studio before, and I knew it was something they could pull off successfully.

Was dit maklik vir jou gewees om dit onder water te doen en wat was van die uitdagings vir jou gewees?
Some of the challenges were having my makeup not melt because the water temperature was between 29 and 31 degrees. Also, the flower shot was tricky to do because flowers float, so we had to find creative ways to trap them underwater and release them at a very specific time. It was also tricky to get the projections on my face in focus, whilst also being in the right place for the camera to be in focus too.
It took a lot of energy and strength during a time when I was fighting an undiagnosed lyme disease/tick bite fever. I was still quite weak, but I didn’t want anything to hold me back, even though there was a concern about whether I’d be strong enough to shoot the video wearing weights for some of the shots. Luckily things are much better now!

Is daar ’n boodskap in jou lied “Transcend” en wat hoop jy kry mense daar uit?
This song is for anyone who is going through or has gone through a difficult time in their life. Life can be tough, and sometimes you feel all alone and invalidated in your struggle. There are ups and downs in life, and each storm that you weather makes you stronger at the end of the day. From these hardships and growth, something beautiful can still emerge, “you need rain for flowers to grow”.

Wie sal jy se was jou inspirasie agter “Transcend”?
I lost a friend dear to my heart to a violent crime, and it made me so much more aware of the impermenance of life, a combination of knowing how my friend lived his life to the fullest as well as the struggles I had with my health is what inspired th song.

Hoe voel dit wanneer jy jou lied op radio staties hoor?
I don’t think I’ll easily get used to it. But I always feel grateful!

As jy met ander kunstenaars in ons land kan werk vir jou volgende enkelsnit wie sal dit wees en hoekom?
I’d love to work with someone as amazing as Zolani Mahola, or Karen Zoid or Graeme Watkins – just a few among an entire wishlist I have. 😉

Wat kan ons nog verwag van Sincerely Anne in die nabye toekoms?
With the live music scene starting up again, I have a few shows that are brewing or in the pipeline. People can follow Sincerely Anne of Facebook or instagram to see when! There is also a full album in the pipeline that will be released within the next year.

Het jy enige woorde van inspirasie vir ons jeug wat graag in jou voetspore wil volg?
You don’t have to be perfect to get the ball rolling on your craft, you learn by doing, so be prepared to fail sometimes! If you constantly apply yourself to your craft, you will get better and your roots will grow as you establish yourself. And have fun.
